A Longest Night/Blue Christmas service is a special opportunity offered by Shiloh Church each year around the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. It acknowledges and offers support to those struggling during the holidays, particularly with grief, loss, loneliness, or depression. The service uses dim lighting and reflective music to create a soft and calming atmosphere. Readings and prayers focus on themes of hope, comfort, and healing, while candle lighting allows individuals to symbolically acknowledge their pain or remember loved ones. Moments of silence offer space for personal reflection. This service provides a safe space to acknowledge difficult emotions during a time when society often promotes happiness and celebration. It's a reminder that it's okay to not be okay, and that support is available. Sunday, December 22, 2024, Shiloh Church Room 5 -  Note: NOT at Shiloh Meeting House this year.
